A BID is a defined area where businesses pay an additional fee (or assessment) in order to fund projects within the district's boundaries. These additional fees are put towards services like beautification, safety, marketing, events, and daily maintenance. These efforts help create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment that encourages people to visit, support local businesses, and stay connected to the heart of our city.
As a 100% volunteer organization comprised of downtown business/building owners, the Hartford Business Improvement District (BID) board donates many hours to help fulfill its mission. Hartford BID board meetings are held at 7:30 am on the second Thursday of select month's at Forte Bank. The meeting agenda is posted in City Hall.
